Andrew Hazzard is an Australian actor, singer and voice.
He has received critical acclaim for his work and is a two-time AiF Heath Ledger Award nominee.
His most recent project was in the supporting role of Sy Spector in the Australian premiere of the musical The Bodyguard opposite Paulini Curuenavuli, Kip Gamblin and Prinnie Stevens.
The stage reimagining of the classic Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner film, written by Oscar-nominated Lawrence Kasdan (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and adapted by Oscar-winning writer Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman), it toured nationally throughout 2017.
On screen, he portrayed the leading role of Jack Kerrans in AFI|AACTA Award-winning writer-director
John Duigan’s feature Careless Love, opposite Nammi Le and alongside Peter O’Brien and David Field.
Duigan is the filmmaker behind Australian classics The Year My Voice Broke, Flirting and Sirens, with his works starring Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Charlize Theron, Sam Neill, Ben Mendelsohn, and Baz Lurhmann.
Andrew appeared as Harris in the tele-movie Brock, working with AFI|AACTA Award-winning director Geoff Bennett, and portrayed the role of John Bryant in Academy Award-nominated and AFI|AACTA Award-winning director David Bradbury's docu-film The Crater.
His work in series includes Rick Allen in Love Child, Angus Reid in Crownies, Keiran Munroe in Home & Away, Lucas in Dance Academy, Eddie in My Place, Jamie Hewson in Cops L.A.C, Drew Redman and Gus Adington in All Saints, and Michael in Underbelly: The Golden Mile.
On stage, he portrayed the leading role of Melchior Gabor in the Australian premiere of the musical Spring Awakening with the Sydney Theatre Company, directed by Geordie Brookman and under the co-artistic directorship of Andrew Upton and Cate Blanchett.
The contemporary STC season included productions with Hugo Weaving, William Hurt, Richard Roxburgh, Robyn Nevin, John Bell and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
He played the supporting role of Zeke Baylor in the Australian premiere of High School Musical with Disney Theatrical Productions,
the stage adaptation of the highly successful film starring Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.
His voice work has spanned animatics, narrations, presentations, promos and commercials – for creative studios, national and global corporations,
and brands across a wide range of sectors. He has a diverse client base of radio stations, television channels, advertising agencies and companies.
He has also appeared in numerous commercials, both domestically and internationally.
Andrew is a graduate of the Actors Centre, a college in Sydney where Hugh Jackman holds patronage and with alumni including Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Daniel Henshall, Rose Byrne and Russell Crowe.
He is a member of MEAA and AFI|AACTA, and is represented by MARQUEE, UNDERGROUND and RMK.
